Well that's interesting.


I just used Chat GPT to tell me how to lose weight. When it asked my preferences, I mentioned that I love cookies. Voila! In 30 seconds I had a 7-day meal plan where I will lose 1.5 pounds a week while eating 10 cookies a week.


Sounds like a dream come true doesn't it? (Hope you like chicken, lettuce, and eating all your food without any cheese, butter, or tasty condiments EVER AGAIN too!)


If you're still looking for the "perfect" diet or program just stop. There isn't one. Every single diet or program out there can work - but only if you can commit yourself to doing it FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. (That's where we have an issue don't we?)


No carbs. No sweets. No fat. No sugar. No gluten. No dairy. No indulging. No room for messing up. Any diet or program that creates these walls of absolutes is complete garbage.


My job as a health coach is to teach people how to create balance. It's a perfectly imperfect journey as we learn, struggle, succeed, stumble, then keep going.


Eventually we find that balance. We learn how to stop giving in to cravings and numbing our uneasy feelings with food. We come to appreciate the body we've always resented. It feels good to exercise. We understand how much better we feel when we eat quality food and it motivates us to keep going.


As a health coach, it's a beautiful experience to see the joy in the face of my clients when they realize they now have mastery over their eating habits and the thoughts in their mind that once made them feel so completely miserable.


So have some cookies. Just not 10 of them. After all, balance is the secret to sustainable weight loss.


And AI, you actually kind of suck at my job.
